ROSE is the acronym for 'Restriction and Obviation in Scalar Expressions', a five year research project funded by the European Research Council under the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7: 2007-2013; ERC Grant Agreement no. 313502; Consolidator scheme). The project runs from March 2013 until March 2018.
The aim of the project is to probe fundamental aspects of the semantics and pragmatics of scalar terms in natural language, by means of formal modelling, cross-linguistic comparison and experimental investigation. The aim of these working papers series is to provide a comprehensive overview of the output generated by the project. Working papers can be downloaded directly for free or printed on demand.
